Hello!  Thanks for taking the time to be a part of one of my New Year’s goals.  I prefer to call them goals instead of resolutions mainly because a goal is something that you are allowed to gradually achieve and a resolution, to me, sounds like something that if you don’t accomplish in 3.2 seconds it’s “off with your head”.  My husband has been encouraging me to blog for years now and I have decided that 2012 is the year.

I thought that for my first blog I would write about ME.  Not because I have a huge ego or anything, but because I think you should have all the facts up front to decide if you’re going to “unfollow” or “follow” me (or whatever the appropriate terms are for the blog world, I’m still learning).  So, here it goes:

First things first, I’m a wife.  I’ve been happily married for almost 9 years to my best friend.  We’ve had our ups and downs in life and I can’t imagine sharing this journey with anyone else.  On top of that, I’m a pastor’s wife, but I don’t sing, play the piano, or organize potlucks.  So sorry to disappoint.  I do, however, love being in ministry and feel privileged to be a part of the church God has called us to.

I’m a mom.  I have the most beautiful toddler girl that has ever walked the face of this earth.  Because I have a toddler I found out that I have become an expert in tea parties, hair bows, and Elmo.  She has taught me so much about life and I am amazed by how she views the world.  I am blessed to be able to stay at home with her, which means that I have many tips on creating the illusion of a clean house when company comes over.

I don’t really have a lot of hobbies.  I watch reality TV.  I think that it’s important to remember that no matter how bad you think your life is at the moment, at least you’re not out in a rainforest somewhere rationing out a tablespoon of rice and some cricket guts with your tribe mates.  I enjoy cooking and trying out new recipes even though I’m not worthy of shining any of the iron chef’s spatulas.  I’m starting to jump back on the reading train.  It’s been very challenging finding time to sit down and get lost in a book with a kid running around, but that’s another one of my goals this year.

So anyway, that’s pretty much me.  I have a head full of ideas (good and bad), lessons learned, and dreams to fulfill.  Thanks again for setting aside a few minutes of your life to get to know my little corner of the world.
